Dog runs away on Halloween night

At the shelter, little Max, a dog with big, sad eyes, awaited his fate. Every day, he saw other dogs being taken to a room from which they never returned. He knew his turn was coming, and although he tried to be brave, fear took over him. One day, a kind-looking man approached his cage and, with a smile, decided to adopt him. Max couldn't believe his luck; he would finally have a home.

Max's joy was indescribable. Upon arriving at his new home, he ran around the garden, sniffed every corner, and curled up in a soft bed that seemed to be made of clouds. His new owner, Mr. Gomez, petted him and gave him treats. Max thought he had found paradise. However, over time, he began to notice strange things. There were empty cages in the basement and sharp knives in the kitchen that never seemed to be used for cooking.

One night, Max heard Mr. Gomez talking on the phone. The words “fresh meat” and “delivery tomorrow” made him shiver. He remembered the other dogs that had gone missing and a deep terror gripped him. Could it be that his new owner adopted dogs and then ate them? The thought was terrifying, but the evidence seemed to point to that horrible truth.

Desperate, Max tried to get the neighbors’ attention. He barked at the top of his lungs whenever someone walked by on the street, but no one seemed to understand his distress. On one occasion, he managed to escape from the garden and ran towards a woman who was walking her dog. He barked and whined, trying to communicate his desperation, but the woman only petted him and returned him to Mr. Gomez, who greeted him with a sinister smile.

Time was running out and Max knew he had to act fast. One night, while Mr. Gomez was sleeping, Max found an open window and jumped outside. He ran without looking back, his legs moving at full speed. He arrived at a house with lights on and began scratching frantically at the door. A family opened it and, seeing his condition, took him in without hesitation.

Max was finally safe, but the scars of his experience would never fade. He had escaped a terrible fate, and although he now had a loving home, he would always remember the horror he had lived through. His story became a warning to others, and thanks to his bravery, Mr. Gomez was arrested and the neighborhood dogs were able to sleep peacefully.
